We serve as both a Data Controller (for your account information) and a Data Processor (for the rental data you manage through our platform). Our mission is to provide DIY landlords with secure, professional tools while maintaining the highest standards of data integrity.

We collect the following categories of personal data:

• Account Information: Name, email address, phone number, and KRA PIN (if provided for tax calculations).
• Property Data: Addresses, unit numbers, rent amounts, and commission structures.
• Tenant Records: Names, contact details, ID numbers, and lease agreements.
• Transaction Data: M-Pesa transaction codes, payment dates, amounts, and deduction records.
• Usage Data: IP addresses, browser types, and interaction logs with our platform.

We process your data based on the following grounds under the Data Protection Act:

• Performance of a Contract: To provide our rent tracking and reminder services.
• Legal Obligation: To maintain financial records and comply with KRA reporting requirements where applicable.
• Legitimate Interests: To improve our application features, ensure security, and prevent fraud.
• Consent: For marketing communications which you can opt-out of at any time.

Under the Kenya Data Protection Act 2019, you have the right to:

• Request access to your personal data.
• Request rectification of false or misleading data.
• Request erasure of your data (Right to be Forgotten).
• Object to the processing of your data for specific purposes.
• Request a copy of your data in a portable, machine-readable format.

Your data is stored securely using industry-standard encryption. As a cloud-based service, some of your data may be transferred to and stored on servers located outside of Kenya (e.g., EU or US). We ensure that all such transfers comply with Sections 48 and 49 of the Act, utilizing standard contractual clauses and ensuring adequate safeguards are in place with our cloud providers.

We implement technical and organizational measures to prevent unauthorized access, loss, or disclosure of your data. This includes secure database access, 2FA options for user accounts, and regular security audits of our codebase.
